On the eleventh month of #knitmas Cygnet Yarns gave to me: perfect Christmas stockings

Nothing screams Christmas more than a fireplace adorned with handknitted Christmas stockings. Or if you live in a featureless box, as I do, create a virtual fireplace with stockings, strategically placed foliage and a stack of candles!

We have a couple of our own stocking patterns and I've trawled the internet looking for my other free faves!

With a distinctively 'Where's Wally' vibe, this stocking looks great teamed up with traditional red, white and green decor and it's spacious enough for plenty of chocolate oranges (my go to stocking filler of choice...just saying).

Yes, ok. I've pinched this from last month's knitmas, but it's too cute not to mention! Super quick to make, I love to hang these from the tree and stuff them full of Quality Street - makes a nice change to the shop bought chocolates. You can also stuff this with cinnamon sticks or clove studded orange peel to give your room that delectable Christmas smell.

Not quite a stocking, but near enough for me - these fab socks have a distinctively festive flare. A nice simple pattern that's perfect for beginner sock knitters!

I love a chevron at Christmas, but I'd be tempted to jazz this pattern up using our Cygnet DK neon shades of Bright Lime or Bright Pink! This pattern is available as a free download at Ravelry.

This super traditional stocking immediately makes me want to reach for the mince pies and a Baileys! Imagine this worked up using our Pure Wool Superwash in Cranberry - lush! Free to download from AllFreeKnitting.

If you're a fan of sock knitting, keep an eye out for our new e-books coming out soon!!!

Don't forget to share your makes on our Facebook Group page - share the love on all social media using #12monthsofknitmas :D
